Integrating Successfully

This week's article to read was interesting as it represented a real-life scenario. Hall Memorial, a little, rural school in Connecticut, had received a grant that allowed them to purchase technology for their school. After a great deal of thought, the school opted to purchase one smart board to test the concept. The results were phenomenal! They soon purchased enough for every classroom and bought laptops for each teacher. Instead of having a computer class, the teachers integrate technology lessons within the basic reading, writing, and math classes. Students are excited about the different ways that they can use technology to communicate and the teachers are no longer having discipline problems because the students are excited to learn. This is what technology integration should be about. The teachers share ideas, the students share ideas, and everyone learns. Kudos to Hall Memorial for showing the rest of us what a global community is all about.
